Robin Meier Wiratungas Praxis umfasst sowohl Klangkomposition als auch wissenschaftliche Forschung und Erz\u00e4hlkonstruktion. Er lebt in Paris, wo er mit dem IRCAM, dem Forschungs- und Produktionszentrum f\u00fcr Klang des Centre Pompidou, zusammenarbeitet, war Artist in Residence am CERN in Genf und unterrichtet an der HKB in Bern. Seine Projekte wurden unter anderem im Palais de Tokyo in Paris, auf der Biennale in Shanghai und beim Colomboscope Sri Lanka pr\u00e4sentiert. Aktuell zeigt er The Mind Body Problem im Ausstellungsraum der Universit\u00e4t Genf SEU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waves beneath an ocean of wet air <\/a>ist Teil einer interaktiven Website, die im Rahmen der Biennale von Diriyah 2024 entstand. Es handelt sich um eine Musikkomposition in Form von sieben Radiosendern, die auf Soundscapes aus W\u00fcsten, Ozeanen, St\u00e4dten und Labors basiert. Das Summen des singenden Sandes, das in der W\u00fcste Rub\u2019 al Khali im S\u00fcden der Arabischen Halbinsel aufgenommen wurde, nimmt dabei eine besondere Stellung ein. Singender Sand ist ein nat\u00fcrliches Ph\u00e4nomen: Die Reibung, die zwischen den Sandk\u00f6rnern durch Wind oder Schritte verursacht wird, erzeugt synchronisierte Schallschwingungen. Sandd\u00fcnen wiederum formen sich durch die repetitiven Bewegungen des Windes, was an musikalische Rhythmen erinnert. Im weiteren Sinne versucht das Werk zu zeigen, dass Erde und Sand fluide sind. Es spiegelt so auch die Dekonstruktion des Gegensatzes zwischen Erde (Eigentum) und Meer (Freiheit) \u2013 einer kolonialen Fiktion.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

La pratique de Robin Meier Wiratunga rel\u00e8ve \u00e0 la fois de la composition sonore, de la recherche scientifique et de la construction de r\u00e9cits. Bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris o\u00f9 il collabore avec l’IRCAM, le centre de recherche et de production sonore du Centre Pompidou, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 en r\u00e9sidence au CERN \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve et enseigne \u00e0 la HKB \u00e0 Berne. Waves beneath an ocean of wet air<\/a> s’inscrit dans un site interactif r\u00e9alis\u00e9 dans le cadre de la Biennale de Diriyah 2024. Il s’agit d’une composition musicale sous la forme de sept stations de radio, bas\u00e9e sur un ensemble de sons collect\u00e9s dans les d\u00e9serts, les oc\u00e9ans, les villes et les laboratoires. Le bourdonnement des sables chantants enregistr\u00e9s dans le d\u00e9sert de Rub\u2019 al Khali, au sud de la p\u00e9ninsule arabique, y occupe une place particuli\u00e8re. Les sables chantants sont un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne naturel d\u00fb notamment \u00e0 la friction entre les grains provoqu\u00e9e par le vent ou des pas, et qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re des vibrations sonores synchronis\u00e9es. Les dunes de sable, quant \u00e0 elles, prennent forme gr\u00e2ce aux mouvement r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs du vent, ce qui rappelle les rythmes musicaux. Plus largement, l’\u0153uvre cherche \u00e0 r\u00e9v\u00e9ler comment la terre et le sable sont des fluides, et fait \u00e9cho \u00e0 la d\u00e9construction de l’opposition entre terre (propri\u00e9t\u00e9) et mer (libert\u00e9) comme fiction coloniale.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
