Conceived as a post-optimistic manifesto on nature, this sound piece by Björk and Aleph addresses the unprecedented loss of biodiversity and the collapse of ecosystems. Björk’s voice is accompanied by Robin Meier Wiratunga with the cries of extinct or endangered animals. Reading this nature manifesto, her voice blends with animal vocalisations and merges with soundscapes in nature. Envisioning a future where the resilience of biology forms new combinations in nature, the work gives voice to silent nature, transforming its quietude into sound and resonating within our collective imagination.

FR: Conçue comme un manifeste post-optimiste sur la nature, cette œuvre sonore de Björk et Aleph aborde l’atteinte sans précédent à la biodiversité et l’effondrement des écosystèmes. L’œuvre fusionne la voix de Björk, lisant son manifeste, avec les cris d’animaux disparus ou en voie de disparition, les harmonisant avec des paysages sonores naturels. Envisageant un avenir où la résilience de la biologie crée de nouvelles combinaisons dans la nature, l’œuvre donne une voix à la nature silencieuse, transformant son silence en son et résonnant dans notre imaginaire collectif. Les sons ont été édités et produits par Björk en collaboration avec Robin Meier Wiratunga, à l’aide de logiciels de l’Institut de recherche et coordination acoustique/musique (Ircam)  et de modèles d’intelligence artificielle.
